My Lists
My Lists enables you to set up one or several watch lists which then can be used as query filters across all Silobreaker’s features and tools. This can be lists of products, people, companies, keywords, publications or anything else that defines your areas of interest or monitoring targets. The watch lists can be shared with, and collaborated on, with colleagues and expanded and changed throughout a project or the general work flow.

My Page
My Page enables you to design your own Silobreaker dashboard. You can mix and match between any features and tools, and drag and drop the widgets to personalize the layout. Like with My Lists, My Pages can be shared with colleagues. My Page is also from where email-alerts are being set up and activated. Below you’ll find a few examples of how My Page can be used, but the key point is that you are in charge of what these pages will look like.

The My Page dashboard above shows how Silobreaker’s Heat-measure can be used to monitor stock markets or large portfolios of financial assets. Heat enables you to quickly check out “what’s hot and what’s not” in the media for any portfolio of assets or entities, but also for non-financial names. Heat works as a “deviation-measure” and looks at current vs normal news coverage. That way, it’s not the biggest names with the most press that stand out but those who suddenly have more coverage than usual, and probably should be focused on. Any name can be clicked on for a full media-coverage result.

My Page dashboards can also be used to monitor a product portfolio, trademarks, other intellectual property or similar. Heat-widgets together with top stories, media-attention trends, networks, social media real-time search and content volume statistics, side-by-side with your own internal content – and all in one single intuitive user interface.

Equally, My Page dashboards can be used to monitor political or economic events and processes. The above screenshot is a “Central Banks Watch” and offers monitoring of news about monetary policy from central banks around the world. This dashboard combines press releases from central banks themselves with coverage from old, new and social media, together with Silobreaker’s unique analytics and visualizations.

Network

Network Search is one of Silobreaker’s standard tools that can be used either as a feature in My Page or from the main search box. Network search finds and connects data in your search results and displays the connections in an interactive network. This enables you to explore and see beyond your original focus. Technically, the idea is to find structure in unstructured information without relying on manually configured connections or human editing. The Network is extracted ‘live’, as when you make a query, and will change dynamically as new content comes in. By hovering over a name or the midpoint of any relationship you can see how the name or the connection fits in.

Media Attention Trends

With Trends Search you can compare people, companies or products to see who or what attracts most media attention based on mentions in the news. This enables you to gauge trends from what the aggregate press corps is writing about. Like with Network search, Trends can either be used as a dashboard feature in My Page or as a stand alone tool from the main search box.

360-Pages

360° Search is Silobreaker’s main search result and gives you a wide-ranging overview of what is relevant to your search including Silobreaker’s context extraction. The design of the search result pages are similar to an online newspaper, but generated automatically by a computer program (click on image to enlarge).
